A series of ‘traditional’ Medieval-Christian and Byzantine paintings, drawings, and artifacts with new-age contemporary themes. This series started as an artistic exploration of my own Christian-Italian heritage (my father moved to Canada at 6 years-old from Turin, Italy) and was also fueled with research trips to Italy, Turkey, Berlin, Armenia, Georgia, Greece, and the Vatican City. Presented in the aesthetic of old-world European religious art, this body of work explores a range of contemporary issues such as COVID-19, Trumpism, mass shootings and gun culture, environmental pollution, climate change, social media, biotechnology, and our technological evolution, through the lens of Medieval, Byzantine-stylized paintings.
